Boiled Chestnuts Using a Pressure Cooker

If you use a pressure cooker, you can parboil chestnuts quickly and easily.

Ingredients

Chestnuts
1 kg
Water
as needed

Steps

1. Wash the chestnuts, put them in a pressure cooker, and add enough water to cover them.
2. Heat the pressure cooker until it comes up to pressure. Lower the heat and cook under pressure for 5 minutes. Leave the cooker to cool and de-pressurize naturally.
3. Drain the chestnuts into a colander, and peel them using a knife. Be careful not to cut yourself!
4. Eat as-is. Or put them in simmered dishes, stir fries and so on. Add them at the very end.
