Yakitori-Style Chicken Tenders

Yakitori-Style Chicken Tenders

I coated fragrant chicken tenders in a sweet yakitori sauce. This is delicious even when cold, making it great for bento lunch boxes.

Ingredients: 6 chicken tenders

Chicken tenders
6
Salt
A small amount
Katakuriko
About 3 tablespoons
Vegetable oil
As needed
●Soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons
●Sugar
1 tablespoon
●Mirin
1 tablespoon
●Blended miso
1 teaspoon
●Oyster sauce
1/2 tablespoon
Garlic
3 thin slices

Steps

1. Spread a generous amount of vegetable oil out in a frying pan and place the katakuriko-coated chicken tenders. Cook on high heat until golden brown.
2. Combine the ● ingredients, mix, and set aside.
3. Spread a generous amount of vegetable oil out in a frying pan and place the flour-coated chicken tenders. Cook on high heat until golden brown.
4. Once one side has cooked, flip and cook on medium heat with a lid. Once it's golden brown, stop the heat.
5. Wipe excess oil in the frying pan with a paper towel, and add the sauce you made in Step 2, the garlic and turn on the heat again.
6. Turn up to high heat and once the sauce comes to a boil, it's done (be careful not to burn it). Cut into bite-sized pieces and serve.

Story Behind this Recipe

I made this in a hurry as a bento item, but it was delicious so I turned it into a recipe. Just a little bit of miso gives a nice fragrance.
