Burn-You-Up Garlic Konnyaku Beer Snack

The aroma of garlic! The spice of red chili peppers! These are perfect as drinking appetizer.

Ingredients: 2 servings

1 block
☆Takanotsume chili
1 clove
Sesame oil
1 teaspoon
For the dashi stock:
100 ml
●Mentsuyu (3x concentrate)
1 tablespoon
●Soy sauce
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon


1. Score both sides of the block of konnyaku, and, using your hands, tear, or cut into bite-sized pieces with a spoon. Boil in hot water and skim any scum that may rise to the top.
2. Slice red chili pepper into thin rounds, and thinly slice garlic. Combine with the ● ingredients.
3. Heat oil and sauté the ☆ ingredients over low heat. Once it's aromatic, add the konnyaku and lightly sauté.
4. Add the ● ingredients, and simmer over medium-high heat until the liquid boils down completely. This should take about 5 to 10 minutes.
