Pacific Saury Roasted with Sesame Seeds

Enjoy this with the light and refreshing taste of grated daikon radish and ponzu sauce.

Ingredients: 4 servings

Pacific saury (sanma)
Black sesame seeds
1 teaspoon
White sesame seeds
1 teaspoon
to taste
1 tablespoon
Soy sauce
2/3 tablespoon
Juice from grated ginger
1 teaspoon
Daikon radish
as needed


1. Fillet the fish in 3 layers and then cut in half. Pre-season with the sake, soy sauce and juice from grated ginger, and let sit for 20 minutes.
2. Coat the fish in sesame seeds, then cook both sides in a frying pan.
3. Transfer to serving plates, sprinkle on some chopped chives, and serve with drained grated daikon radish.
