Mayonnaise Flavored Chikuwa Piccata

This dish is easy to cook. Enjoy freshly cooked, or cooled and packed in your bento.

Ingredients: 1 bag of chikuwa

5 small
Chopped scallions
as needed
Soy sauce
a small amout
1 tablespoon


1. Cut the chikuwa into half lengthwise. For bento, also cut into 2-3 pieces crosswise.
2. Beat the egg in a bowl. Add chopped scallions and a small amount of soy sauce, and mix together.
3. Add the mayonnaise into a pan, and turn on the heat. When the mayonnaise starts to melt, dip the chikuwa into the Step ② egg mixture, and pan-fry.
4. Pour the rest of the egg mixture over the chikuwa.
5. While frying them, flip over once in a while. When the egg is cooked through, it's done.

We have often eaten chikuwa at our house since long ago. I made everybody's favorite mayonnaise flavour.
