Ume Plum Jam Pie

A simple pie with homemade ume plum jam.
The way the sweet and tart flavors combine is superb. It's so delicious!


Frozen puff pastry
1 sheet
Plum jam
3 tablespoons
Cream cheese
50 g
Beaten egg
as needed


1. Defrost the pastry to room temperature. Preheat the oven to 200℃.
2. Cut the pie pastry sheet in half. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on one half and top that with plum jam. Leave 1 cm clean around the edges.
3. Brush the beaten egg around the sides.
4. Make cuts in the other half of the pastry, leaving space around the edges.
5. Place it on top of the sheet covered with jam and seal the edges with a fork.
6. Brush the beaten egg across the whole surface for an attractive finish.
7. Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven, and it's done!

Story Behind this Recipe

My mother gave me some homemade ume plum jam, so I turned it into this pie.
The gooey jam that seeps out when it's just baked is so good!
