Penne Gorgonzola with Blue Cheese

Penne Gorgonzola with Blue Cheese

This pasta has an authentic flavor but is easy to make. If you get your hands on some blue cheese, please give this recipe a try.
It goes perfectly with red wine.

Ingredients: 1 serving

Penne pasta
1 cup (70-80 g)
Blue cheese
1 heaping tablespoon
Minced onion
1/4 medium
● White wine
2 tablespoons
● Heavy cream
60 ml
● Minced garlic
1 clove
●Olive oil
as needed
Coarsely ground black pepper
a small amount

1. Boil the penne in salted water for the amount of time listed on the package. Finely chop the onion and garlic.
2. Put the garlic, olive oil, and onion in a frying pan and turn the heat on. Cook, stirring, over low heat. When the onion becomes translucent, add the white wine.
3. Now add the blue cheese and stir so it melts into the white wine. When the blue cheese is mostly melted, add the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
4. Finally, add the boiled penne. Check the saltiness and adjust the seasoning. Sprinkle with black pepper and it's ready.

Story Behind this Recipe

I had leftover blue cheese that I bought for snacking, so I decided to use it to try to make a dish from a restaurant I like.
