Grilled Ham and Chikuwa with Mayonnaise

An easy side-dish that's all about wrapping and grilling. It's seasoned with mayonnaise - everyone's favorite. (In the picture, it's the one in the back.)

Ingredients: 6 servings

2 slices
● Mayonnaise
2 tablespoons
● Coarsely ground black pepper
A dash
Vegetable oil
As needed


1. Cut the chikuwa in half lengthwise. Slice ham to the same size as the chikuwa.
2. Spread out the chikuwa with the outside (the browned side) facing up. Top with ham, and roll it up. Skewer with a pick.
3. Heat a frying pan and spread vegetable oil. Grill both sides of the chikuwa roll (from step 2).
4. When both sides are golden brown, add mayonnaise and coarsely ground black pepper and serve.

I came up with this recipe to use up the chikuwa that's been sitting in the fridge.
