Easy! Chewy Kabocha Squash Mochi

Easy! Chewy Kabocha Squash Mochi

This recipe uses only 4 ingredients. They're treats that are easy to prepare. Even kids who don't like kabocha squash enjoy these too.
If you make them in different shapes, they can be good for Halloween as well.

Ingredients: 20 pieces

Kabocha squash
1/2
Katakuriko
5 tablespoons
Sugar
5 tablespoons
Vegetable oil
as needed

Steps

1. Cut the kabocha into small pieces. Place in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave until soft.
2. Let cool slightly and remove the skin of the kabocha with a spoon.
3. Add together all the ingredients except for the vegetable oil in a food processor and puree.
4. When the kabocha mixture looks like the picture, wet your hands and shape as you like.
5. Heat the oil in a pan and pan-fry the shaped mochi until golden brown on both sides.
6. This is how they look inside.

Story Behind this Recipe

This is the kabocha version of "Easy Addictive ! Taro Mochi " which I introduced before.
