Place the frozen puff pastry in the refrigerator for 30 minutes (15 minutes if you're in a hurry.)
Cut the puff pastry into equal sizes.
Make holes with a fork (this makes them crispy).
Coat one side of the puff pastry with granulated sugar.
Preheat the oven to 210°C and bake for 17 minutes.
Granulated sugar makes them shiny!! These are crispy and delicious.
Let cool on a rack. Meanwhile, melt chocolate in the microwave. Dip the bottom of the puff pastry into the chocolate. The amount is up to you.
Chill in the refrigerator until the chocolate is set I drew lines using leftover chocolate.
You can change the chocolate or pastry shapes. It's also cute if you cut into shapes with cookie cutters.
It may be a bit expensive for gifts, but if you use couverture chocolate, it's easy to gift wrap.
Story Behind this Recipe
I love Morinaga brand's "Leafy"!! I was thinking if I could make it at home.
Poke holes in the pastry. You can put the chocolate on a plate and place it in the oven for 5 minutes after baking the puff pastry. It will melt while preheating (the plate will be hot, so be careful!!)
