Tear the lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Mince the garlic.
Heat olive oil in a pan, add the garlic and red chili pepper and stir-fry until aromatic, taking care not to burn them. Add the jako sardines.
Add the lettuce, briskly stir-fry on high heat, then season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with lemon juice to taste, and serve.

Story Behind this Recipe
Instead of eating the baby sardines as is, I decided to stir-fry them with some lettuce, adding a combination of seasonings as I went.
Be careful not to overcook the lettuce. For optimal tastiness, it should be briskly stir-fried to preserve the crispy texture. So simple and easy, I'm not sure whether this can even be called a recipe, (or it may even already be posted), but here's another tasty combo: Stir-fry garlic and red chili peppers until aromatic, then add baby sardines and salt, and sprinkle with lemon juice.
