Simple and Nutritious! Lettuce and Baby Sardine Stir-fry

A pack of baby sardines was near its expiry date, so I used the sardines with lettuce, garlic, and lemon to make a nutritious stir-fry.

Ingredients

Lettuce
About 4 leaves
Jako (semi-dried young sardines)
About 4 tablespoons
Garlic
1 clove
Red chili pepper
To taste
Salt and pepper
Lemon juice
About 1 teaspoon
Olive oil
1 tablespoon

Steps

1. Tear the lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Mince the garlic.
2. Heat olive oil in a pan, add the garlic and red chili pepper and stir-fry until aromatic, taking care not to burn them. Add the jako sardines.
3. Add the lettuce, briskly stir-fry on high heat, then season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with lemon juice to taste, and serve.

Story Behind this Recipe

Instead of eating the baby sardines as is, I decided to stir-fry them with some lettuce, adding a combination of seasonings as I went.
