Heat the sesame oil and garlic in a frying pan. When the frying pan is hot, add vegetables, meat and stir fry.
When everything is more or less cooked, add the yakisoba noodles and stir fry. If the noodles are not untangling, add a tablespoon of water to loosen the strands.
Combine the yuzu pepper paste, salt and cooking sake.
Add the mixture to the pan and stir-fry briskly.
Transfer to a serving plate, top with the sakura shrimp and it's done.
Story Behind this Recipe
I took a hint from the yakisoba dish my yuzu pepper-loving husband made for me.
You can omit the sakura shrimp if you like, but if you are using them, crush lightly between your fingers to bring out their flavor. You can use somen noodles instead of yakisoba noodles to make "somen champuruu" (Okinawan stir-fry).
