Fruit with Cream Cheese and Caramel Sauce

An easy dessert made from caramel sauce with a slight touch of saltiness from cream cheese, combined with fresh fruit.


For the caramel sauce
Granulated sugar
1/2 cup (100 ml)
1 heaping tablespoon
Heavy cream
1 cup (200 ml)
Cream cheese
80 g
to taste
to taste
Canned white peaches
to taste
Lemon juice
to taste


1. Make the caramel sauce. Put the granulated sugar and water in a heatproof container, mix well and microwave for 4 minutes. Heat until it becomes browned to your liking. Add the room temperature cream a little at a time while mixing. (See Recipe ID: 243637)
2. Tightly wrap the cream cheese in plastic wrap, and microwave for 30 to 40 seconds. Add the softened cream cheese to the Step 1 mixture, blend in a blender or food processor and chill.
3. Cut the bananas and apples up into easy to eat pieces, and sprinkle with enough lemon juice to cover all the surfaces. Chill the fruit for a bit in the refrigerator, arrange on a plate with the canned peaches, and pour the cheese-caramel sauce from Step 2 over all.

Story Behind this Recipe

I wanted to use the sauce that won the Philadelphia cream cheese recipe contest to make an easy dessert with fruit, that also didn't require much preparation.
