Spring Themed Fried Rice with Spring Cabbage

Spring Themed Fried Rice with Spring Cabbage

This is a fried rice dish my mother used to make. It is spring themed, with the green cabbage like the buds on a tree, the yellow egg like nanohana, and the pink fish sausage like tulips. I recommend you enjoy it with Japanese Worcestershire-style sauce.

Ingredients: 1 serving

2-3 leaves
Fish sausage
1/2 stick
Cooked rice (warm)
150 g
Salt and pepper
a small amount
Vegetable oil (for frying)
a small amount
Japanese Worcestershire-style sauce (recommended as a condiment)
as needed

1. Shred the cabbage into thick pieces and cut the fish sausage into half moons. Beat the egg.
2. Heat the oil in a frying pan and lightly fry the egg, then set it aside.
3. Fry the cabbage and fish sausage from Step 1 in the frying pan.
4. When the cabbage has wilted, season with salt and pepper, add the rice, mix in the egg, and fry to finish.
5. If you are on a diet, reduce the amount of rice and add more cabbage!

Story Behind this Recipe

My mother always made this in the spring time when I was a child. We eat it with Worcestershire-style sauce. It's so good.
