Stir Fried Pork and Cabbage with Ketchup and Miso

Ketchup and miso go really nicely together! The slight sweetness and rich flavor whet your appetite.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Thinly sliced pork rounds
150 g
A
Sake
1 teaspoon
Soy sauce
1 teaspoon
Grated garlic
to taste
Cabbage
300 g
Green bell peppers

Sake
2 tablespoons
Miso
1 tablespoon
Ketchup
1 tablespoon
Doubanjiang
1 teaspoon
Sesame oil
1 tablespoon

Steps

1. Cut the pork into bite sized pieces, and season with the A. ingredients.
2. Cut the green peppers into bite sized pieces. Cut the cabbage into 3-4 cm squares.
3. Combine the B. ingredients.
4. Heat sesame oil in a pan, and stir fry the pork. When the meat changes color, add the cabbage and peppers. When the vegetables slightly reduces in volume, add the sauce from Step 3. It's done when everything is cooked through.

Story Behind this Recipe

I won a drawing to be a product tester for Kagome brand ketchup, so I thought up this recipe. I was able to use up some leftover cabbage that was turning yellow. The color was covered up by the ketchup, and everyone fought over this dish at dinner.
