Cod Fillets in Nanban Sauce with Veggies

Just let the flavor soak into this dish. The tangy taste goes well with rice.

Ingredients: 4 servings

Cod
400 g
Onion

Carrot
1/2
Soy sauce
150 ml
Vinegar
120 ml
Light brown sugar (caster sugar)
4 tablespoons
Water
1 cup - 200 ml
Red chili pepper
1
Plain flour
as needed
Frying oil
as needed

Steps

1. Cut the fish into bite-sized pieces. Thinly slice the onion along the grain. Julienne the carrot. Remove the seeds from the chili peppers and slice into thin rounds.
2. Mix the seasoning ingredients in a bowl with the water. Add the chili pepper, onions, and carrot.
3. Dust the fish with flour and deep fry. While it's still hot, put it in the marinade from Step 2.
4. Let the flavors mingle for 10 -15 minutes, and it's ready.
