Easy Microwave Kabocha Squash Kinpira for Bentos

A kabocha squash kinpira you can make easily in the microwave.

Ingredients: 3 small cupcake liners

Kabocha squash
About 1/6
☆ Soy sauce
1 teaspoon
☆ Sugar
1/2 teaspoon
☆ Sesame oil
1 teaspoon
Kidney beans
to taste
Sesame seeds (white or black)
to taste
Bonito flakes
to taste

Steps

1. I used 1/6 of the squash but you can adjust the amount to use.
2. Slice it thin and then into thin strips. ( Be careful because it's hard )
3. Put it in a microwaveable container and add all ☆ ingredients. Mix it at this point. Cover it and heat it up in a microwave for about 2 minutes. Take it out from the microwave once and mix it the second time and cover it again and heat in the microwave for about another 1 minute. The basic dish is ready now. I sprinkled with some various toppings as shown below.
4. With sesame seeds.
5. With bonito flakes.
6. I cooked it with miso and added kidney beans.
7. Make this easy kabocha squash kinpira any way you like.

Story Behind this Recipe

I love kabocha squash boiled in miso, and I had some kidney beans - so I thought of this recipe. It's easy to make but has a taste stronger than usual simmered dishes, so it's best suited for bentos. Try varying the basic recipe.
