A Tasty Way to Eat Strawberries

Strawberries taste much better when they are rested with one tablespoon of sugar.

Ingredients: 2 servings

☆Strawberries
1/2 ~1 pack
☆Granulated sugar
1 tablespoon
Sour cream yogurt, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream etc.
250 ml
Toppings (optional)
Coconut flakes
2 teaspoons
Roasted almond or your favorite nuts
2 teaspoons
Lemon juice
1 teaspoon ~
Kirsch/cointreau etc.
1 teaspoon ~

Steps

1. Wash the strawberries and cut off the tops and cut into bite-size pieces. Lightly drain and place in a container. Add 1 tablespoon sugar and mix lightly. (Do not smash the strawberries. Let sit for at least 1 hour. Do not refrigerate.)
2. After one hour, when the sugar is incorporated and the color is vivid, they're ready. Sprinkle with lemon juice.
3. They are great as they are but they taste even better with sour cream, yogurt or whipped cream.
4. This will turn not-so-sweet strawberries into delicious ones.

Story Behind this Recipe

I really enjoyed the strawberry parfait I had at a restaurant so I asked if there was any secret. They told me that the strawberries shouldn't be kept in the refrigerator and to add some sugar and let sit for a while.
