My Secret Rice Gratin (Doria)

My Secret Rice Gratin (Doria)

I made this tomato and mayonnaise rice gratin (called a doria) with rice I had left over. Very light.. Please try it out!

Ingredients: Serves 2

Plain cooked rice
enough to fill 2 smal ricebowls
80 g
Onions, Shiitake mushrooms, Spinach, etc.
a little bit of each
1 tablespoon (15g)
Cake flour
2 tablespoons
200 ml
Soup stock cubes
Canned whole tomatos
1/2 can
Shredded cheese for pizza (easily meltable)
4 tablespoons
2 tablespoons
as needed

1. Put butter in a pan and cook the chicken (cut into bite-sized pieces), onion, and other vegetables (whatever vegetables you like). Sprinkle in the flour and continue to cook, but be sure not to let it burn. Slowly stir in the milk, mixing thoroughly.
2. When the mixture has thickened into a firm mass, season with salt and pepper. Add in the rice and quickly mix.
3. Divide the mixture into two gratin dishes. Squirt mayonnaise, tomatoes (cut up first), cheese, and panko. In a toaster oven or oven, heat the dish through until the cheese is well melted and a golden brown crust has formed.
4. Creamy rice, tomato, cheese, and mayonnaise... so good!

Story Behind this Recipe

I needed to use the rest of a can of whole tomatoes, so I decided to put them in this creamy doria. This is much better than ketchup rice doria...
As I thought, mayonnaise and rice are perfect together, right.
