Sake Steamed Manila Clams

A simple recipe for steaming manila clams in sake.
The clams become so plump from the generous amount of sake.
The flavor from these simple ingredients is excellent.

Ingredients: 2-3 servings

Manila clams
1 bag
200 ml
a pinch
Green onions or scallions
to taste
Soy sauce
a small amount


1. Thoroughly wash the clams to remove any impurities and to remove the salt. Drain in a colander.
2. Put the sake and the clams in a frying pan. Cover with a lid and steam on high heat. Add a little bit of soy sauce and some pepper for flavor, and then it's done.
3. To finish, garnish with green onion for color.
