This recipe is for a Kansai-style sakura mochi. They are filled with sakura an paste and sakura mousse. You can easily make this in the microwave. How about having it as dessert for the Doll's Festival or flower viewing?

Add the red food coloring a bit at a time. To produce a rather pretty color, dip a toothpick into the food coloring and then mix in only the amount that sticks to the toothpick.
