Super Easy Roast Beef

This requires only 7 ingredients, and only 10 minutes cooking time. Yet, this delicious roast beef wins the a perfect score. You've got to make this and surprise everyone!

Ingredients: From 4 servings

Beef thigh (block)
800 to 1000 g
★Soy sauce
2 cups (400 ml)
★Japanese dashi stock
2 cups (400 ml)
2 cups (400 ml)
Salt, pepper, vegetable oil
As needed


1. Align the beef in a microwave-safe dish, making sure they don't overlap. Heat for 1 minute at 500W. Rub in salt and pepper (I used coarsely ground black pepper).
2. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a pan. Turn the meat over when browned. Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes (over low heat).
3. Add all ★ condiments in a pot, and bring to a boil. Add the meat, then turn the heat off immediately. Set aside to cool down.
4. Slice thinly, dish it up, and serve. Pour the sauce into a small dish and serve with the meat.

Story Behind this Recipe

This was one of the New Year's Eve treats that I had during my second visit to my in-laws. The recipe was actually quite simple when my mother-in-law taught it to me - so easy that even I could make it! Since then, I make this whenever I see inexpensive meat at the supermarket.
