Oil-Free Tea and Apple Rice Cooker Cake

Prepping this cake is easy too. You can make a tarte tatin tea and apple cake easily using pancake mix.

Ingredients: Using a 5.5 cup rice cooker

Pancake mix
200 g
Black tea bags
2 bags
2/3 cup (166 ml)
Lemon juice (optional)
about 2 teaspoons
Honey or sugar (optional)
about 1 tablespoon


1. Take the leaves out of one of the tea bags into a cup. Add 2/3 cup of water, and microwave for 2 and a half minutes.
2. Slice the apple into 5 mm thick wedges. Put them in a single layer on a plate, optionally sprinkle with honey or sugar and lemon juice, and microwave at 500 W for 5 minutes.
3. Beat the egg, add the tea from Step 1 after it has cooled down, and add the leaves in the other tea bag too. Fold in the pancake mix.
4. Line the apple slices on the bottom of the rice cooker bowl, and pour in the batter.
5. Bake twice using the "quick cooking" setting.

Story Behind this Recipe

I wanted to eat a cake with tea in it, and I also had a lot of apples, but I wanted to keep it simple and make it in a rice cooker, so I made this.
Black tea and apples do go so well together This is an apple cake subtly scented with tea.
