Easy Bitter Matcha Gateau au Chocolat

Easy with pancake mix! No need to whip. This bitter matcha chocolate gateau is really rich.

Ingredients: 15cm round cake pan

Matcha chocolate bar
1 (50 g)
100 ml
40 g
20 g
Heavy cream
50 ml
●Pancake mix
200 g
● Matcha
10 g
as needed
to decorate
Heavy cream
to decorate


1. Finely break the chocolate and combine with the milk. Microwave for a minute to melt and mix.
2. Combine the softened butter and sugar. Add the mixture from Step 1 and heavy cream. Mix thoroughly.
3. Combine the ● dry ingredients and sift into the bowl of ingredients from Step 2. Mix well.
4. Also add the finely minced walnuts. Grease a cake pan with butter and pour in the mixture. Tap the bottom on a flat surface to remove air bubbles.
5. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes in a 170℃ oven. Let it cool without removing from the pan.
6. Sprinkle a generous amount of matcha on top. Top with softly whipped matcha cream.

I was trying to think of a way to make easy cakes using some delicious matcha chocolate. It turned out as a simple cake using baking powder. It's simple and yet stunningly tasty!
