I also recommend this sweet and salty dish as an everyday side dish since it's easy to make.

Ingredients

Thinly sliced beef
as needed
Burdock root
1
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Sugar
1 tablespoon
Sake
as needed
Mirin
a small amount

Steps

1. Roughly julienne the burdock root and parboil.
2. Roll up Step 1 with beef. Combine the seasonings in a pot, and briefly simmer until the the colour of the meat changes .

I usually roll them up with pork, but since it's New Year's, I used beef.
