Tazukuri with Walnuts

The walnuts make these delicious!


Dried sardines
50 g
40 g
★ Light brown sugar (or white sugar)
2 tablespoons
★ Sake, mirin, soy sauce
1 tablespoon each
Sesame seeds (topping)
1 tablespoon


1. Prepare everything you need, then mix together the ★ ingredients.
2. Dry roast the walnuts in a frying pan over low heat for 4 to 5 minutes. Break the walnuts up a bit with your hands.
3. Dry roast the dried sardines separately.
4. Transfer them to a paper towel. Separate out the whole sardines and discard the crumbs.
5. In a (small) frying pan, bring the ★ ingredients to a boil, remove from heat, then coat the sardines, walnuts, and sesame seeds in the sauce.
6. Transfer to a tray to cool. They will stick!
