5 Minute Soup! Bacon and Lettuce Consommé

Prepare the ingredients while the water is heating up, add them all to the pot, bring everything to a boil and it's done!
This is a quick recipe for busy mornings.

Ingredients: 2 servings

2 large leaves
2 slices
Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon
2-3 cups
Consomme soup stock granules
1 teaspoon


1. While the water is heating up in the pot, prepare the ingredients. Tear the lettuce into large bite-sized pieces. Cut the bacon into 3mm wide slices. If using consomme cubes, use a knife to chop up into pieces that will dissolve easily.
2. Once the water comes to a boil, add the consomme. Next add the bacon and then the lettuce in order. When it comes to a boil again, stop the heat and add the Parmesan cheese.
3. Serve the soup in a dish and optionally garnish with parsley or green onion.

I made this to use up some lettuce. The simple taste of bacon gives this soup a deep and rich broth.
