Just Like a High-Class Chinese Restaurant Jumbo-Sized Meatballs

These are so easy, but my husband said he thought I'd gotten them from an expensive restaurant. These are big, hearty Chinese-style meatballs.

Ingredients: 4 servings

Ground pork
300 g
○Whole egg
1/2
○Grated ginger
1 teaspoon
○Krazy Salt or seasoned salt
to taste
○Soy sauce
1 teaspoon
○Sake (shaoxing wine available)
1 teaspoon
○Katakuriko
1 tablespoon
◎Sugar
4 tablespoons
◎Black vinegar (or grain vinegar)
4 tablespoons
◎Tomato ketchup
5 tablespoons
◎Soy sauce
2 1/2 teaspoons
◎Katakuriko
1 heaping teaspoon

Steps

1. Combine the ◎ ingredients in a pan and cook over low heat while stirring constantly until thickened.
2. Knead the ground pork with your hands until it's sticky, then add the ○ ingredients and knead some more.
3. Roll the meat mixture into large meatballs, and deep fry in 320F/160C oil.
4. Drain off the excess oil on paper towels, and coat the meatballs in the sauce.
5. Done.
