Our Family's 'Oyako-don' Chicken and Egg Rice Bowl

The caramelized onions give this dish a distinctive sweetness. My son loves this.

Ingredients: 4 servings

Onion
1 medium
Chicken (thigh or breast meat)
600 g
Vegetable oil
1 tablespoon
Sake
2 tablespoons
○Dashi stock
200 ml
○ Sake
3 tablespoons
○ Sugar
3.5 tablespoons plus
○ Soy sauce
3.5 tablespoons plus
Egg
6
Shredded nori seaweed
as much as you like
Shichimi spice
To taste

Steps

1. Saute the sliced onion in vegetable oil.
2. Once the onions are translucent, add the bite-sized chicken and cook. Sprinkle 2 tablespoon of sake. When chicken has cooked, add the ○ seasonings and simmer.
3. Beat the eggs and pour over the chicken and onions. Cover the skillet with a lid and steam for 1~2 minutes. If you like fluffy eggs, remove from the heat earlier.
4. Sprinkle seaweed and shichimi spice right before serving.
