Char Siu Style Chicken Teriyaki

Char Siu Style Chicken Teriyaki

No need to panic if you have unexpected guests when you have this in the fridge! An authentic flavor in no time...great as rice bowl, too! Serve with vegetables to guests.

Chicken (thigh or breast meat)
2 breasts or thighs
5 tablespoons
Soy sauce, mayonnaise
3 tablespoons each
2 to 3 tablespoons

1. Pierce the chicken several times with a fork, and season with salt and pepper (not listed in the ingredients) on both sides. Mix the seasoning ingredients together.
2. Heat some oil in a frying pan over medium heat and cook the chicken skin side down until browned.
3. When the skin side is browned, turn the chicken over and add the flavoring ingredients. Put on a lid and cook over low heat for 8 to 10 minutes.
4. Take the lid off, set the heat to low-medium and coat the chicken with the sauce until shiny, 2-3 minutes per side, and it's done.
5. Take out and slice. If the chicken isn't cooked all the way through, add it back to the pan and simmer for a while longer.

Story Behind this Recipe

I had some chicken breast when I had little time to cook... I made it in a hurry but my family loved it.
