Rice Cooker Creamy Open Omurice

Rice Cooker Creamy Open Omurice

This is a soft and creamy omurice. The ketchup rice can be made in your rice cooker very easily.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Eggs
3
Ketchup
1 cup
White rice (uncooked)
1 rice cooker cup (180 ml)
Salt
to taste
Onion
1/2
Shimeji mushrooms
1/2 bunch
Ham
3 slices
Butter
2 tablespoons

Steps

1. Thinly slice the onions and ham. Shred the shimeji mushrooms and set aside.
2. Wash the rice. Use about 2 cups worth of water in the cooker, combined with the ketchup. Add salt, lightly stir, and cook in the rice cooker.
3. Once the rice has cooked, heat 1 tablespoon of butter in the frying pan. Beat one egg well (1 serving) and add.
4. Use chopsticks to make a large mixing motion a few times. When it's half-cooked, turn off the heat. Be careful not to over-cook.
5. Transfer the rice to a serving plate and put the egg on top. If you would like, pour ketchup on top.

Story Behind this Recipe

I don't like the wrapping process for omurice.
