Easy, Hands-off Poached Egg

You can make this while cooking other dishes.
It's okay to leave them be.


1 (or however many are necessary)
enough to cover egg


1. In a pot, bring water to a very rapid boil.
2. After the water comes to a boil, turn off the heat and add the eggs. Let them sit for 12-15 minutes.
3. All done. Very carefully remove the shell, and let the egg slip out.

Story Behind this Recipe

I just let the eggs sit. Microwaving can make them explode, or cook too firmly. Different microwaves also produced different results and I always had to keep an eye on them. This recipe is great because you can make other dishes while the eggs are cooking.
