Cut the shirataki noodles into easily eatable lengths. Finely chop the green onion and red chilli pepper.
Heat sesame oil in a pan. Add the shirataki noodles and red chilli pepper and stir until you can hear the noodles sizzle. Add the sake and mix it in well. Toss the noodles to evaporate the liquid in the pan.
Add soy sauce and sugar, then add a ton of chopped green onion. Stir quickly to distribute the ingredients evenly, and you're done.
Story Behind this Recipe
My mother-in-law was cooking dinner and found she needed to make one more dish. "That's it!" she exclaimed, and just like that she made this dish for me. I learnt this recipe by watching her from the side, and so I eyeballed the ingredients to recreate it here. I think the proportions came out perfectly.
