Shio-Kombu and Cheese with Chikuwa Drinking Appetizer

Here's an easy drinking appetizer using chikuwa. The combination of melted cheese with salty shio-kombu is divine. These are great sake or beer snacks, and also great served with rice or in bentos.

Chikuwa

Cheese
as needed
Shio-kombu
as needed

Steps

1. Cut the chikuwa lengthwise in half. Roll up with the brown side inside, and secure with a toothpick.
2. Top with cheese and shio-kombu.
3. Broil in a toaster oven until the cheese is melted.
