Plain Hot Dog Rolls

These fluffy bread rolls go great with everything. Enjoy topping them with various things.

Ingredients: Makes 8, 18cm long rolls

Bread (strong) flour
300 g
6 g
15 g
5 g
Powdered milk
6 g
15 g
190 ml
Your favorite toppings
To taste


1. Make the bread dough, knead it, and let it rise. (You can use a bread machine or knead by hand.)
2. Punch down the dough and the divide it into 8 portions. Shape them into neat balls and let them rest for 15 minutes.
3. Gently punch down the dough again, and then form the dough. Make the dough into an oval shape by rolling it out with a rolling pin. Fold in the edges of the dough into the center.
4. Fold in the last two ends of the dough to the center again and pinch the ends together.
5. With the palm of you hand, press out the dough, and with the the seam facing down, arrange them on a tray lined with parchment paper. Spray them with water and let them rise a second time for 20 minutes.
6. In an oven preheated to 200℃ bake for 10~12 minutes. They're done.
7. Top with with your favorite toppings and dig in. This time I put a hot dog in it. I coated where I cut with butter, and on the inside I put cabbage, tomato, mayonnaise, sausage, and ketchup.

Story Behind this Recipe

This is a bread recipe that my child loves to eat topped with various toppings. I made the bread simple so it didn't overpower the flavor of the toppings. You'll get a soft, fluffy roll from this recipe.
