Our Butcher's Macaroni Salad

Our Butcher's Macaroni Salad

The macaroni salad sold by our butcher shop tastes like this. The creamy sauce is the key.

Ingredients: 4 servings

Macaroni
80 g
Egg
1
Ham
2 slices
Lettuce
2 leaves
Cucumber
1/2
◎ Mayonnaise
4 tablespoons
◎ Plain yogurt
1 tablespoon
◎ Milk
1 tablespoon
◎ Mustard (Japanese or Western)
1 teaspoon
◎ Pepper
a small amount
Salt
to taste
Olive oil
1 teaspoon

Steps

1. Mix the ingredients marked ◎ together, and mix the mustard with a little water to make mustard paste (or use prepared mustard). Boil the macaroni in salted water and drain well in a colander, mix with olive oil and leave to cool.
2. Boil the egg and chop coarsely. Cut the ham into 1 cm wide strips. Rip the lettuce up with your hands. Massage the cucumber with salt and slice thinly, then squeeze out well to get rid of excess moisture.
3. Mix everything together well, put on serving plates and it's done.

Story Behind this Recipe

The macaroni salad sold at a butcher or prepared-food shop is creamy and not dry at all! I aimed for that kind of result with this recipe.
