Cut the tops off the okra and chop up roughly. Cut the beef into bite-sized pieces, season with salt and pepper, and lightly coat with katakuriko. Julienne the ginger.
Pour sesame oil in a pan, add the ginger, and turn on the heat. When it becomes fragrant, add the beef and stir-fry.
When the beef has browned all over, add the oyster sauce, soy sauce and honey all at once, simmer and mix well. Add the okra, stir-fry briefly, and it's done.
Serve some cooked rice in a bowl, and add Step 3 on top. Break in the quail egg in the middle, sprinkle a few drops of ra-yu (it will add spiciness and bring all the flavors together), and it's done. Mix everything together and devour!
Story Behind this Recipe
The stickiness of okra goes well with meat, so I came up with this recipe.
The key is stir-frying everything over high heat from the start until the end, and work quickly.
