Simple Stir Fried Squid and Garlic Shoots

Just stir-fry and serve! This is a simple stir-fry dish.

Ingredients: 2 ~ 3 servings

Garlic shoots
1/2 bunch
Japanese leek
1/2 stalk
1 teaspoon
1 teaspoon
a small amount
Chicken stock granules
1 heaping teaspoon
Sesame oil
to taste
to taste


1. Chop the garlic shoots into 5 ~ 6 cm, and parboil. Cut the squid into bite-size pieces. Cut the Japanese leek diagonally into thin slices.
2. Sprinkle the squid with a small amount of sake and salt, then coat with katakuriko.
3. Heat sesame oil in a pan, and stir-fry the squid. When the colour starts to change, add garlic shoots, Japanese leek, chicken stock granules, and continue stir-frying. Season with salt and pepper (not listed).
4. Squeeze a circle of mayonnaise on top, mix together, and serve!

Story Behind this Recipe

I used to stir-fry garlic shoots with pork, but I wanted to change it up a bit. I substituted pork with squid, and it was delicious. This is how I arrived at this recipe.
