Nostalgic School Lunch Meat Sauce

Nostalgic School Lunch Meat Sauce

This is a mild-flavored meat sauce, similar to what I was served for school lunch.

Ingredients: 1 serving

Ground meat
40g
Onion
40g
Carrot
10g
Butter
10g
White flour
1 tablespoon
Water
100ml
Tomato ketchup
30g
Salt
a pinch
Pepper
a small amount

Steps

1. Mince the onion and carrot.
2. Cook the onion and carrot in butter, then add the ground meat and cook until the meat changes color. Sprinkle in the flour and cook well.
3. Add the water and tomato ketchup, and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix every now and then to keep it from burning.
4. I originally listed 7g of flour, but that's difficult to understand so I changed it to 1 tablespoon. Although honestly, 1 tablespoon is 8g, but it's no problem at all.

Story Behind this Recipe

I loved the meat sauce served for my school lunch.
The meat sauce we learned how to make in middle school cooking class was actually this flavor!
After getting married, I made this for my husband and he loved it, so I continue to make this even now.
I make this in 10 times the listed amount and store it in the freezer.
