Bring the egg to room temperature. Combine and sift the flour, tea and baking powder.
Melt the butter in a saucepan. Coat the mould with the melted butter and let it chill in the fridge.
Beat the egg in a bowl, add the granulated sugar and mix with a whisk.
Add the powdery ingredients, mix well, then add the condensed milk and mix some more.
Add the melted butter, little by little, and mix. Let it sit in the fridge for over an hour.
Spoon the batter into the mould and bake for 10 minutes at 180℃.
Story Behind this Recipe
I'd wanted to buy a heart-shaped mould for ages, and at last I bought it! I didn't know how much of each ingredient I would need, so I tried baking madeleines with 1 egg. They were small, so I ended up with a lot.
If you use normal shell moulds, you'll get around 8 cakes. I didn't coat the mould with flour because I was using a silicon one, but if necessary, add flour after coating it with butter. If you don't have black tea powder, blend some tea leaves instead. The baking time in the recipe is for 12 mini heart-shaped cakes. If you are using a shell mould, bake for 15 minutes.
