Dry Eggplant Curry for Adults

A spicy dry curry for adults with a subtle hint of oyster sauce.

Ingredients: 2-3 people

Eggplant (slim Japanese type)
4 eggplants
Ground pork
400 g
☆Curry powder
2-3 tablespoons
2 tablespoons
☆Tonkatsu sauce (Japanese Worcestershire-style sauce or steak sauce)
2 tablespoons
☆Oyster sauce
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
☆Soy sauce
1 teaspoon
Vegetable oil
as needed
Salt, pepper
to taste


1. Cut the eggplant into cubes, and soak in water. After thoroughly draining, pour a generous amount of oil to a pan, cook until golden brown, and remove the eggplants.
2. Using the remaining oil in the pan, cook the onions until translucent, add the ground pork and cook until well-done. Add the ingredients marked with ☆ for flavoring, and then add the eggplant and fry.
3. Add salt and pepper to taste, and it's done.

Story Behind this Recipe

I quickly fry this up whenever I get a sudden craving to eat dry curry. I always eyeball the ingredient amounts, so I added the amounts afterwards.
