Easy Side Dish! Baked Leek with Mustard and Cheese

The grainy mustard and cheese whet your appetite It's great as a side dish or as a drinking appetizer, which goes well with wine. You can substitute the leeks with Shimonita leeks or Japanese leeks.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Leeks
2
Pizza cheese
about 2 handful (to your liking)
Grainy mustard
1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons
Salt, Black pepper
a small amount
Olive oil
1 tablespoon

Steps

1. Mix the cheese and grainy mustard in a bowl. When you are using a block of cheese, either grate it or cut into 1 cm cubes.
2. Remove the green part of the leeks, and cut into 7-8 mm wide slices.
3. Add the olive oil into a frying pan, and stir-fry the leeks.
4. When they become wilted, turn down the heat. Cover with a lid, and steam-fry for about 8-10 minutes until they become soft. Lightly sprinkle with salt and pepper.
5. Place the Step 4 leeks in a heatproof dish, and put the cheese and grainy mustard mixture on top.
6. Bake in the oven or in a grill until the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
