Chrysanthemum Leaf Shira-ae

Chrysanthemum Leaf Shira-ae

A vegetable rich shira-ae dish. It's so easy to prepare, and so full of nutrients!

Ingredients: 4 servings

Chrysanthemum leaves
1 bag
1/2 block
1/3 of a carrot
Sesame seeds, ground
2 tablespoons
1 tablespoon
a pinch
Soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon

1. Julienne the carrot, then briefly parboil. Parboil the chrysanthemum leaves, then chill. Rinse the tofu in boiling water, then remove the excess water with a dry muslin or cloth.
2. Grind the sesame seeds, add sugar, soy sauce, sake, and miso and mix well. Then, add the tofu.
3. Once all the ingredients are well mixed, add the chrysanthemum leaves and carrots, then evenly toss everything together.

Story Behind this Recipe

My mother used to make this for me often, so I came up with my own version.
We love sesame seeds!

I recommend roasting and grinding the sesame seeds. They'll taste much better that way.
