Easy Chocolate Pies

Easy Chocolate Pies

You can make these easy chocolate pies in about 35 minutes.
For a snack or as a Valentine's Day gift.

Ingredients: 10~12 pies

Frozen puff pastry
2 sheets
Chocolate bar
Egg yolk
1 (~2)
Granulated sugar
as needed
Sliced almonds
as needed

1. 1 - Defrost the frozen puff pastry in the fridge (about 1 hour). 2 - Dust the puff pastry and roll out with a rolling pin to half its original thickness. 3 - Cut out into shapes of your choice (make the same shapes as you put 2 pastry pieces together). 4 - Brush egg yolk on the edges, and put 1 block of chocolate between 2 pieces.
2. 5 - Put 2 pieces together, and firmly press the edges with a fork and pierce the tops. 6 - Brush egg yolk on the surface, sprinkle granulated sugar and top with sliced almonds. 7 - Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15 minutes (adjust the cooking time, checking the pies so as not to burn).
3. 8 - Cool a bit, and they are done!

Story Behind this Recipe

I made these chocolate pies with leftover ingredients from Valentine's Day, and I gave them as small gifts to a teacher who helped us a lot this term.
