Basic Plain Pasta

Basic Plain Pasta

Handmade pasta is surprisingly simple and tastes great! Definitely try making it, if you can get your hands on semolina powder! Check out this recipe here for more details (Recipe ID: 331067).

Ingredients: 1 person

Durum Semolina flour
100 g
Olive oil
1 tablespoon
to taste

1. Add semolina powder to a bowl to make the dough, make a dent in the center, and add the egg, salt, and oil (If there is anything you want to mix into the dough, then add in this step. Please check out Recipe ID: 331067 for ideas).
2. First, thoroughly mix the ingredients inside the dent with a fork, gradually mixing in the flour from the edges of the indent.
3. Once the dough has formed into a big ball, knead well by hand. (Coat your hands with a bit of flour if the dough sticks, or add a bit if oil or water if the dough is hard).
4. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit for 1 hour, stretch out the dough, and fold it into thirds (folding in the uneven ends). Repeat stretching and folding 2 more times.
5. Stretch the dough out to desired thickness after rolling it out. (Setting 4 or 5 is the best if using a pasta machine).
6. Cover with lots of flour, and cut the noodles.
7. Coat the noodles with lots of flour so that they don't stick together, and hang them for a while to dry (drying the noodles will add body to the noodles.)
8. Boil the pasta in hot water for 1-2 minutes, and it is done.
9. Enjoy it with your favorite sauce.
