Yokohama Sanma-men Using Store-Bought Ramen

"Sanma" is pacific saury, but there's no fish in this! This is a ramen from Yokohama using lots of vegetables and a thickened soup.

Ingredients: 1 serving

Fresh ramen noodles (soy sauce soup packet)
1 serving
Veggies (whatever's left in the fridge)
About 150 g
Thinly sliced pork belly
1~2 slices
☆ Chinese soup stock
1 teaspoon
1 teaspoon
☆Salt and pepper
To taste


1. Cut the veggies and pork into easy-to-eat portions, and stir fry in vegetable oil. Add 150 ml hot water and ☆, bring to a boil, and thicken well with water-dissolved katakuriko.
2. Prep the ramen (it's good to dilute the soup packet). Place into a bowl, and top with Step 1. Top with white pepper as you like and enjoy.

Story Behind this Recipe

I learned about Sanma ramen after I moved to Yokohama. This ramen is famous enough that it is sold in convenience stores in Yokohama. It is a delicious ramen with lots of veggies and a thick sauce.
