Hearty Thai-style Rice

This is the best!! Mix it all together, and eat it up.

Ingredients: 4 servings

Ground pork (or pork/beef mix, ground chicken)
Minced onions
Minced carrots
about 5 cm
Minced bacon
2 rashers
Minced garlic
1-2 cloves
Thinly sliced Japanese red chili pepper
about 1 teaspoon (hold back on it)
Sesame oil
1 tablespoon
Soy sauce
4 tablespoons
2 1/2 tablespoons
Mirin and sake
1 tablespoon each
To taste
Onsen tamago (poached egg in its shell) a fried egg with a runny yolk
one per serving
Hot cooked rice

1. Heat sesame oil in a frying pan, and fry the red peppers and garlic. Once it's fragrant, add the onions and carrots, and continue frying.
2. Once the onions have wilted, add the ground meat, and fry some more. Add the bacon once the meat browns, and cook together.
3. Once everything is well fried, add the soy sauce, sugar, sake, and mirin, and boil down the liquid until a little juice remains.
4. Scatter lettuce on a plate, arrange the rice, and add the ingredients. Add the onsen tamago or half-cooked egg on top.
5. Mix it all up and enjoy!

Story Behind this Recipe

This is the Thai-style rice that I always order at restaurants!! Through trial and error, I was able to reproduce the quality at restaurants at home.
