Mix the mayonnaise, vinegar and sugar together.
Mix the tarako into the mixture from Step 2.
Mash the potatoes while they are still hot.
Add the combined sauce from Step 3 to the still warm mashed potatoes. Taste, and adjust the seasoning.
Add the finely chopped green onion and chill in the refrigerator.
