Just use any vegetables you like! (Cabbage, Chinese cabbage, carrot, mushrooms, shrimp, etc.)
Heat some sesame oil in a wok or frying pan, and stir-fry the finely chopped garlic and sliced red chili pepper. When it becomes fragrant, add the pork and stir-fry.
When the pork is cooked add the ★ ingredients as well as the noodles. Stir fry while de-tangling the noodles. Taste the noodles as you cook them.
When the noodles are well flavored, add the vegetables and simmer while stir-frying. Make sure not to overcook it.
Taste and season with salt and pepper. Add some finely chopped red chili pepper to taste!
I use these yakisoba noodles. They were on half price sale for 19 yen!
This is the Weipa I use.
Story Behind this Recipe
My friend taught me a version of this yakisoba noodle dish, but her version was just flavored with Weipa soup stock paste, so I adapted it after a lot of thought. I prefer my version which is rich rather than salty!
We make this with 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, but please adjust it to your taste. If you're just using 1 pack of yakisoba noodles, halve the ingredients! The sauce will be thickened a bit by the flour on the noodles, but I think that adds to the flavor. Use whatever vegetables you like such as carrots, cabbage or Chinese cabbage.
