Easy, Light and Fluffy Two-color Rice Bowl

Easy, Light and Fluffy Two-color Rice Bowl

My children love this 2-color rice bowl dish. It's one of my quick and easy recipes. The main feature is the soft and finely scrambled egg soboro. It's great for bentos too.

Ingredients: 1 to 2 servings

For the meat soboro:
Ground pork and beef mix (or ground chicken)
100 g
○ Sake
1/2 tablespoon
○ Soy sauce and sugar
2 teaspoons each
○ Ginger (a must)
1 small piece
For the egg soboro:
○ Sugar
1 to 2 teaspoons or to taste
○ Salt and usukuchi soy sauce
a little of each
○ Water
1 tablespoon
Green beans
to taste
Salt and pepper
a little of each

1. To make the meat soboro: Put all the meat soboro ingredients in a pan and mix together well well to crumble the meat. Turn on the heat and stir fry the meat.
2. Hold two pairs of cooking chopsticks in your hand and keep mixing continuously. When the flavoring ingredients have been absorbed into the meat, keep mixing and cooking until the meat turns into very fine sprinkles.
3. For the egg soboro: Put all the egg soboro ingredients into a pan and mix together. Turn on the heat.
4. When the egg starts to coagulate, use two pairs of chopsticks and keep mixing.
5. Keep mixing and cooking until the egg has turned into very fine sprinkles. It's done when it's about this fine!
6. Garnish with some stir-fried green beans that have been seasoned with salt and pepper.

Story Behind this Recipe

My children love soboro with rice. They often request it for their bentos.
